Kamala Harris Receives Surprising Endorsement from Vladimir Putin
... at a time when she is accused of being a communist and the FBI is cracking down on Russian election meddling.
Speaking to the press at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russian President Vladimir Putin telegraphed an unexpected partiality to the Democratic frontrunner Kamala Harris.
This move comes in the wake of Joe Biden and his underlings accusing the autocrat of election meddling.
“Firstly, [U.S. President Joe] Biden recommended all his supporters support Mrs. Harris,” Putin told the press.
“Here, we are going to do that too, we're going to support her,” and the reason he gave, given the grave relationship between the United States and Russia, is rather light-hearted.
“She laughs so expressively and infectiously that it means that everything is fine with her,” Putin said.
He justified his statement with the hope that she would stop American sanctions saying: “[Former U.S. President Donald] Trump has imposed as many sanctions on Russia as any president has ever imposed before, and if Harris is doing well, perhaps she will refrain from such actions.”
This reaction flies in the face of the FBI’s findings that Russia had meddled with the 2016 U.S. Presidential elections and manipulated it so that Former President Donald Trump would win.
Adding to embers of suspicion was a two-hour-long meeting with said president behind closed doors in 2018.
When the two heads of state emerged, Trump appeared to have bought Putin's denials about said interference and rained down compliments on him.
Democratic Senator Mark Warner voiced the collective concern when he said: “What I’m deeply concerned about, and warned the administration beforehand, was what happened in this one-on-one setting. If the President was willing to dismiss American concerns in public, what in the heck did he say in private?”
Putin’s latest remark on U.S. politics comes in the wake of the claims by the Biden Administration that the autocratic country is once again interfering with American politics.
This allegation was backed up by the Department of Treasury and the Federal Bureau of Investigation who indicted the Russia Today media house and its two employees Kostiantyn Kalashnikov and Elena Afanasyeva.
The two allegedly used shell companies and fake identities to broker a $10 million transaction with the Tennessee-based Tenet Media, who would then per instruction, “create content benefitting Russia,” per Al Jazeera.
Said company is known to contract pro-Trump influencers who then publish right-leaning content.
Putin's claim of support has garnered much distrust from Western media entities.
Ivor Bennett, a Moscow correspondent for Sky News, pointed out that the leader is known to say one thing and then do another. As such his latest statement could have one goal in mind: mischief.
Donald Trump and pro-right blow-hards like Elon Musk have referred to Democratic frontrunner Kamala Harris as a communist.
By making this statement, Putin merely plays into said narrative, and should it be adopted by Americans it would endanger Harris’s election bid—especially since Russia is a designated adversary to America.
