The Mozambican elections took place on Oct. 9, 2024.

Fifteen days later, the ruling party, FRELIMO, was declared victorious for the 11th consecutive term, with Daniel Chapo set to succeed President Filipe Nyusi.

This result was disputed, with protests starting even before it was officiated.
